Soon we set off for our second long walk. Southwest Coast Path, most southwesterly part of England. A trail that is 630 miles in total will be our home for ten days. We will cover a mere 100 miles of it. I’ve been describing the section we’re walking From Doc Martin through Sanditon, Broadchurch and Poldark. Only PBS viewers get it.

It’s hard to tell where this is by this map. Here’s another bird’s eye view:

Training for this walk has been very different than our last walk. This year was too hot all summer to go on long all days hikes. So we trained more at the gym, which is not a good way to explore New Mexico, but it did keep us from overheating! It is hard to know if we are conditioned enough. But we do know from previous experience that much of it is a mental game. If we can walk 10 miles, we can walk 20. You just never know how the terrain or the weather or our bodies will impact our walk, so we will just roll with it.
We are excited and we look forward to sharing with you here.
Stay tuned.
